Devex Incorporated is in need Pollution Control Officer.

Located: SM General Trias Cavite Project

The PCO will be responsible for monitoring the contractor’s compliance with project requirements, local environmental regulations, the ECC, and the contractor’s environmental plan. The duties will include:

1. Compliance Monitoring:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess their environmental impact.

• Review and interpret environmental laws and regulations to advise the organization on compliance requirements.

• check that all agreed environmental standards and applicable environmental regulations are complied with

• lead and coordinate the implementation of all environmental monitoring aspects of works off-site and on-site

• provide reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to demonstrate compliance or issues that require action, prepare the required monitoring reports for the authorities

2. Environmental Impact Assessment:

• Assess the environmental impact of company activities and processes.

• Recommend and implement strategies to reduce pollution and minimize the environmental footprint.

• Conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.

3. Permitting and Reporting:

• Assist in obtaining necessary permits and licenses related to environmental regulations.

• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to environmental agencies.

• Maintain records of emissions, waste disposal, and other environmental data.

• act as liaison officer to EMB, client, and other pollution regulating body including the local government pollution control office, and attend all relevant meetings

• review all contractor’s submissions from an environmental perspective and provide feedback for improvements, monitor implementation, and carry out periodic review to update and improve documents as required

• continuous inspection of project site, ensuring environment compliance, and provide reports on the findings

• promoting positive environmental practices to the team and on site through demonstration of best practice and provision of toolbox talks and other guidelines

• identifying environmental improvements and working with the design team to implement it

4. Employee Training:

• Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies and procedures.

• Raise awareness about environmental issues and promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.

5. Pollution Control Technologies:

• Stay updated on the latest pollution control technologies and best practices.

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate pollution control equipment and methods to reduce emissions and pollutants.

6. Environmental Management Systems (EMS):

• Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance.

• Monitor the effectiveness of EMS and recommend improvements as needed.

7. Incident Response:

• Develop and implement emergency response plans in case of environmental incidents or accidents.

• Coordinate with relevant authorities and stakeholders during environmental emergencies.

8. Public Relations and Communication:

• Interact with regulatory agencies, community groups, and the public to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.

• Communicate the organization's environmental initiatives and achievements to stakeholders.

9. Data Analysis:

• Analyze environmental data to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of pollution control measures, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.

10. Research and Development:

• Stay abreast of developments in environmental science, regulations, and technologies.

• Conduct research to identify innovative solutions for pollution control and environmental conservation.

11. Budget Management:

• Manage the budget allocated for pollution control activities, ensuring cost-effective implementation of environmental programs.

12. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to pollution control activities, permits, and compliance documentation.

13. Safety Monitoring

• Performs duties of Safety Officer within the assigned Department as defined in the Occupational Safety and Health Standards, RA11058 and D.O. 198-18 issued by the Department of Labor and Employment

• Oversees the implementation of Department’s Safety Programs and compliance with the requirements of Safety Management System to ensure adherence to safety standards.

• Identifies and appraises hazardous conditions and practices involving safety within the Department.

• Ensures that safety and health rules, and requirements are implemented in the area of responsibility.

• Ensures that safety and health risks are adequately assessed and controlled in the operations of area of responsibility.

• Develops accident prevention and loss control methods, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with safety and health laws, regulations and standards.

• Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and construction processes.

• Assist in Conducting and completing safety-related investigation process in identifying the contributing factors and root causes.

• Assists in the performance of the emergency drill exercises
